　　I do not know who wrote those words,but I have always liked them as areminder that the future can be anything we want to make it.We can take themysterious,hazy future and carve out of it anything that we can imagine,justlike a sculptor carves a statue from a shapeless stone.

　　We are all in the position of the farmer.If we plant a good seed,we reap agood harvest.If our seed is poor and full of weeds,we reap a useless crop.If weplant nothing at all,we harvest nothing at all.

　　I want the future to be better than the past.I don't want it contaminatedby the mistakes and errors with which history is filled.We should all beconcerned about the future because that is where we will spend the reminder ofour lives.

　　The past is gone and static.Nothing we can do will change it.The future isbefore us and dynamic.Everything we do will effect it.Each day will brings withit new frontiers,in our homes and in our businesses,if we will only recognizethem.We are just at the beginning of the progress in every field of humanendeavor.

　　我不知道这段文字是谁写的,我一直很喜欢并用它们来提醒自己,那就是未来操之在我。我们可以掌握神秘而不可知的未来，从中创出我们所能想象的任何东西，一如雕刻家可以将未成型的石头刻出雕像一样。

　　我们每个人都是农夫，我们若种下好种子,就会有丰收，倘若种子长得不良且长满杂草,我们就会徒劳无获，如果我们什么也不种,就根本不会有什么收获。

　　我希望未来会比过去更好。我不希望未来会被那些充斥在历史中的错误所污染，我们应关心未来,因为往后的余生都要在未来中度过。

　　往昔已一去不复返而且是静止的，任凭我们怎么努力都不能改变过去，未来就在我们眼前而且是动态的.我们的所作所为都会影响未来，只要我们体会的出来,每天都可以发现新的知识领域伴随而生，可能是在家里,也可能是在我们的事业中，我们正处在人类所努力钻研的每个领域中进步的起点。

　　At this time the speaker said， “Now I teach you the secret。” He then pokedthe iron ball every 5 seconds by his pinkie no matter how the audience reacted。The iron ball began to move a little after 40miutes。 But the iron ball swungfiercely after 50 minutes。

　　这时，世界第一名的推销员说“此刻就让我来告诉你们秘密在哪，之后他就拿他的小指头对这这个铁球戳了一下，每过5秒又对着铁球戳一下，不管台下反应如何，40分钟后，铁球稍微移动了一点点，50分钟后铁球就开始剧烈晃动。

　　He then asked， “Who can stop the iron ball on the stage?” the people downthe stage all said it couldn’t be done。 The world no。1 salesman said， “This ismy secret of success。 I visit customers everyday until they give in。 you seethey just can’t block me when I succeed。”

　　他之后问：“谁能够上台来把这个铁球停住?”台下的人说这根本办不到。世界第一名的推销员说：“这就是我成功的秘诀。我每次都拜访顾客，直到他们屈服并理解。你看此刻当我成功时，连挡都挡不住。”

　　A boy found an eagle's egg and he put it in the nest of a prairiechicken.The eagle hatched and thought he was a chicken.He grew up doing whatprairie chicken do-scratching at the dirt for food and flying short distanceswith a noisy fluttering of wings.It was a dreary life.Gradually the eagle grewolder and bitter.One day he and his prairie chicken friend saw a beautiful birdsoaring on the currents of air,high above the mountains.

　　The word, friend, covers a wide range of meanings. It can be a noddingacquaintance, a comrade, a confidant, a partner, a playmate, an intimatecolleague, etc.

　　Everyone needs friendship. No one can sail the ocean of life single-handed.We need help from, and also give help to, others. In modern society, peopleattach more importance to relations and connections. A man of charisma has manyfriends. His power lies in his ability to give.

　　As life is full of strife and conflict, we need friends to support and helpus out of difficulties. Our friends give us warnings against danger. Our friendsoffer us advice with regard to how do deal with various situations. True friendsshare not only our joys but also our sorrows.

　　With friendship, life is happy and harmonious. Without friendship, life issad and unfortunate. I have friends in high positions and friends in the rankand file. Some are rich and in power. Some are relatively poor and withoutpower. Some are like myself, working as a teacher, reading and writing, contentwith a simple life. We all care for each other, love and help each other. Wefeel we are happiest when we chat and exchange ideas with one another. With myfriends, I know what to treasure, what to tolerate and what to share.

　　I will never forget my old friends, and I'll keep making new friends. Iwill not be cold and indifferent to my poor friends, and I will show concern forthem, even if it is only a comforting word.

　　“朋友”这个词的意义很广。朋友可以是点头之交、同志、知已、伙伴、玩伴、亲密的同事等。

　　人人都需要友谊，没有人能独自在人生的海洋中航行。我们给人以帮助，也需要别人的帮助。在现代社会，人们更重视关系和联系。一个有非凡魅力的人有许多朋友，他的力量在于他的奉献能力。

　　生活充满矛盾和斗争，我们需要朋友的支持，以帮助我们摆脱困境。朋友提醒我们警惕险滩。朋友主动给我们以忠告，告诉我们如何应付各种不同的局势。真正的朋友与我们同甘共苦。

　　有了友谊，生活幸福、和谐;没有友谊，生活变得悲伤、不幸。我有地位高的朋友，也有地位低的朋友;有的有钱有权，有的较穷且无权无势。有的和我一样教书，读读写写，满足于简朴的生活。我们都互相关心，互相爱护，互相帮助。我们觉得朋友们在一起闲谈交流思想时感到最开心。对我的朋友们，我知道该珍惜什么，容忍什么，分享什么。

　　我决不会忘记老朋友，同时继续结交新朋友。我对穷朋友绝不冷漠，而是关心他们，哪怕只是一句安慰的话。
