My definition of success

Today I am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of success. What is success? It is what everyone is longing for.Sometimes success would be rather simple. Winning a game is success; getting a high grade in the exam is success; making a new friend is success; even now I am

standing here giving my speech is somehow also success.

However, as a person’s whole life is concerned, success becomes very

complicated. Is fortune success? Is fame success? Is high social status success? No, I don’t think so. I believe success is the realization of people’

s hopes and ideals.Nowadays, in the modern society there are many people who are regarded as the successful. And the most obvious characteristics of hem are money, high position and luxurious life. So most people believe that s success and all that they do is for this purpose. But the problem is wether it is real success. We all know there are always more money, higher position and better condition in front of us. If we keep chasing them, where is the end? What will satisfy us at last? Therefore, we can see, to get the real Success we must need something inside, which is the realization of people’ hopes and ideals.

Different people have different ideas about success; cause people’s hopes and ideas vary from one another. But I am sure every success is dear to everybody, cause it is not easy to come by, cause in the process of our striving for success, we got both our body and soul tempted, meanwhile we are enlightened by the most valuable qualities of human beings: love, patient, courage and sense of responsibility. These are the best treasures. So now I am very proud that I have this opportunity to stand here speaking to all of you. It is my success, cause I raise up to challenge my hope.

What is success? Everyone has his own interpretation as I do. But I am sure

every success leads to an ever-brighter future. So ladies and gentlemen, believe in our hopes, believe in ourselves, we, every one of us, can make a successful life!

From painfully shy children who felt terrible about ourselves, who regarded ourselves as human trash, born losers, to internationally recognized English promoters, we made it. we strongly believe that you will make it too! Let’s do it together!

Ladies and Gemtelmen, I'm glad to stand here and have a short speech, about the importance of being different. I hope you will enjoy it. Hopefully, all of you will realise the value of being different and therefore cherish your life more. Firstly, I want to ask you a question:

Do you want to dress yourself or behave as if you are just an exact copy of someone else? Needless to say, the answer is \"no\". We are born as indivaduals. The world will be a dull and boring place if we all apeared the same way. The subtle and extrame differences is what make the world colorful and charming.

Let me ask something else. How did science and technology fight their way to such bright prospects, and why do they have such amazing potential to advance constantly. The difference. The desire to be different is what leads to creative thoughts and make the flower of wisdom blossom everywhere. Only because of difference can society advance step by step, and we can have a brighter future.

In the world which is change quackily ,If you don't adapt, you will be out of the game. Being different indicates who you are and how you live, and is also a way to express yourself and your opinions.

I once heard someone said, everyone has his inherent ability which is concealed by habits, blurred by time and eroded by laziness. I hope we won't be that guy. However, never let it fade, but let the different light your world up and perpare an indepent and confident you for the colorful life ahead.

As we all know, a friend in need is a friend indeed. A harmonious friendship is as necessary as the air around us. Friends bring the distance between people nearer. Friends encourage us to cheer up when we face failure or distress. All in all, friendship is an indispensable part of our life.

Owing to the importance of harmonious relationships, we should think about how we can do to improve our friendships. I think that the quality of generosity is what good friends need. What else? Smiles, like food, can bring warmth to others. The reason why smiles have such a large effect is that they demonstrate our friendliness.

When you are so angry that you are out of control, please calm down and don’t let your anger do any harm.

We all know a story similar to this: Two Men and a Bear. In the forest, when a bear attacked them, the thinner man quickly climbed up to the top of a tree and forgot his promise to the fatter guy, who could not climb the tree, about helping each other when in danger. Luckily, the fatter man saved himself. The fatter mat was very disappointed, and when they got together again, he said to the thinner man, \"You are not my real friend. Only a friend in need is a friend indeed\". This is a very familiar story. It illustrates to us what a friend should be like. It is, however, just a story.

I would like to tell you something about myself, my true feel-ings. When I was in Senior One, I had great difficulty in learning science subjects. I was unable to understand the teacher and 1 could not do the exercises or the homework. I believed that I was stupid and could not learn anything. The sky was gray and the grass was yellow those days. Everything was a mess in my brain. My classmate, a good student, whom I only

considered as one of the classmates before, came to me with a smile. She told me that if I needed help, she would like to help me. As she was also very busy with her studies,I asked myself, \"Could she help me? \"Sev-eral days later, I knew the answer. Yes, she could. She did as much as she could. She made time every day to help me solve the problems and showed me many good ways to study science. Her patience and earnest nature touched me deeply. I worked very hard and my progress was reflected in my examination result. I appreciated her help very much and wanted to thank her. When I looked at her, once again she smiled at me with an encouraging and congratulatory look. At that moment I understood that a true friend should be like this.

Nowadays, it seems that there are many ways of expressing friendship. Our lives are generally better. People now have more time to consider and be more concerned about their lives. Money, which is considered by many to be of prime importance, makes it difficult to find true friendship. Is friendship only greeting each other on meeting? Is friendship only drinking and eating together? Is friendship only lending money to each

other? No, a friend Should be a person you trust and understand. A friend should be a person who tastes happiness and bitterness with you. A friend should be a person who can give you confidence and encouragement.

Though everything has changed, and friendship has scores of definitions, I still believe, and I will believe forever that \"A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed\".

The Responsibility of Youth

As teenagers, we are going through the most beautiful period of our lifetime. Yet youth is not merely a period of time, but a state of mind. If we compare our childhood to the spring of a year, then youth must be the most energetic season-----summer. For all of us, every minute and second counts in this wonderful season. And while we enjoy ourselves, we should bear in mind the responsibility of youth.

Firstly, we should remember that honesty is always the most important character throughout our lifetime. If we choose to make friends with liars, we will have to live life in the endless darkness of crime and guilt. On the contrary, if we stick to honesty and always keep our promise, we will live a bright life in the warm sunshine of happiness and eudemonia. So be honest to your friends as well as the strangers, and enjoy the fragrance of trust.

Secondly, kindness is also among treasurable characters for all of us. Whether we are living a rich or poor life, we should be grateful for all we possess. Maybe we do not have large houses to live in; neither do we have enough money to buy the delicious food. But thank goodness, we have beloved family. We have lovely pets. And we have truly friendship. Remember that money is something, but not everything. As long as we have a kind heart and a grateful attitude towards life, we will live with no regret, regardless of our wealth or reputation. So be kind-hearted to all the creatures, and you’ll live life to the fullest.

Thirdly, the responsibility of youth is to let our dream fly high. We are learning and growing up not only for the good of ourselves, but also for the development of the whole society. We have inherited wonderful cultures and heritages from our ancestors. And now it is our turn to carry on making progress to match the glorious past. It's a tough job, but it is worthy that we devote ourselves to this great improvement.

Most importantly, the responsibility of youth is to ensure that we have grown powerful enough to be responsible for ourselves and for the world.
