摘要：A truss structure (200) with a tension-only member (220, 300, 500) and a methodof operating a vehicle with such a truss structure is provided. Tension-only membersreadily deform when a compressive load is applied. The tension-only members may be aleaf spring, a strap, a cable, or a rope between two connector ends. The tension-onlymembers are placed diagonally in a truss such that the tension-only members support aload applied in one direction but deflect when a load is applied in an opposite direction. Atruss structure with such tension-only members can be flexible to enable a vehicle frameto which it is attached to flex.
